We are really pleased, we got a letter from our consultant on the 4th of this month to say that Harvey's heart, that had been monitored by Ultra Sound last month, is fine and is working normal.
Some Wolf Hirschhorn children are born with heart defects, so we are so glad that Harvey has been given the all clear with his heart.
Harvey has also recently been prescribed a sedative medicine, to bring him round from his epilepsy fits, which is good news, As its such a stressful time when Harvey's fits happen.
Harvey hasn't had a Epilepsy seizure for 10 weeks now which is good but nerve racking due to it not being normal, but if Harvey was to have a seizure and the medicine was administrated, then it should bring him round, but we have been advised to call an Ambulance on the first occasion, just for piece of mind.

Just a little bit about myself David and my family, Im a Bradford lad who loves being outdoors, loves being a loving husband to my wife Jessica and loves being a daddy to my little boy Harvey who unfortunatly is disabled, and has recently been diagnosed with a very rare syndrome called Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome, which prevents him from walking, talking, growing to the same extent as a normal child, and basically prevents him from developing properly and this syndrome delays his growth, a genetics specialists has explained to us that Harvey is missing part or all of chromosome 4p. My wife has had to give up work to care for Harvey and he is so so special to us and takes up a massive part of our lives, so when i get a spare moment in our hectic lifestyle, I like to get out shooting and fishing most weekends, im currently a member of Guiseley Field Target Club, we shoot metal targets that mostly imitate animals, we only shoot with air rifles, and we never shoot live animals, our shooting club is very small, but its a very friendly club, we shoot every Sunday morning from 8.00am until 12.00 noon, and in this time we practice on targets from 5 yards to 55 yards away, we then have a friendly club shoot competition which entails us to pick numbers from a hat and shoot against each other in pairs, this is done over a 13 week period, and the best 4 places win a trophy at the end of each 13 week period.

Im also a very keen all round fisherman, and ive been fishing since my grandad introduced me to the hobby when i was 8 years old, and since then ive taken up sea, coarse, and fly fishing, i even tie my own flies.

My recent conquest is that ive taken up specimen carp fishing, it does help having the knowledge of basic fishing, but techniques are all different, im also blessed to have a couple of local waters close by that hold some big carp, im the sort of person that want fishing techniques to be spot on, and where better to get my answers on the best ways to fish better in the specimen carp world is looking and asking questions on carp forums.

I recently got talking to a very pleasant fellow on a carp forum, by the name of DrBleep, he and a few others have put them selves out to answer many of my questions, and sometimes its embarrassing to ask questions that sound somewhat simple to others that have been specimen carp fishing for many a year, but the ones that have been answering my questions have made me very welcome into the carp forum.

DrBleep who owns carpsmart fishing baits and products has been outstanding, and ive had the pleasure of being chosen to receive a substantial amount of bait, which includes his speciality boiled baits - DrBleep who i now know as Rhys gave me a choice of 2 boiled baits, and i chose the Jungle Fruit over the Marine Supreme, no reason really, just a recommendation towards the Jungle Fruit, Rhys is also sending me some Bleeps Boosters popup boiled baits too. Im yet to venture out to my chosen water, due to the bad weather and low temperatures, but i will be out carp fishing very shortly, to promote DrBleeps baits to my local carp waters and to introduce and try the baits out, using different techniques that have been recommended to me to use. .

Today 17/02/2011 Me and my wife went to see a genetics specialist regards our son and to find out more about his recent diagnosed syndrome.

There was nothing else really he could tell us, other than what we have already learnt on the internet, but it was a shock to find that Harvey's syndrome is a far worse disability than Downs Syndrome, we knew from the internet that both syndromes could have been on par with each other, the only thing with Harvey's syndrome is that its very much underlying and its not physically visable but with Downs Syndrome, you can see it and physically tell that a person has it.

So it has come as a shock really, but he is such a special little boy, and he is cared for and loved in every way.
